Let’s go to… Seoraksan National Park!

Korea is blessed with many magnificent national parks for such a small country. The sheer number of mountains and amount of coastline in South Korea, coupled with the large population necessitating the preservation of natural spaces, has amounted to 17 national parks. Snow day!

We have been trying to get out and take some snow pictures for weeks now. However, every time we get a really beautiful snow, it is always while we are at work! By the time we get home, it is either too dark to take any good pictures, or it is all melted. *SIGH* This past weekend, it actually snowed all day on Saturday! We were able to hike the mountain behind our apartment and take some pictures of the temple up there. Continue reading

Let’s go to… Yongpyong Ski Resort!

Right before Christmas, we got our first actual snow! At the last minute, some of our friends decided we should all go on a road trip three hours outside of Seoul to Yongpyong Ski Resort. Everyone in the group had been skiing or snowboarding for quite some time, except Stephanie. This would be her first time, but after promising to teach her, she agreed to the impromptu trip.
