Of all the wonderful outdoor opportunities Yeosu has to offer, kayak is probably the most overlooked. Being a coastal city, Yeosu had plenty of access to water and the views from our beaches are pretty amazing. While the beaches, Cable Car, and ferries may get most of the attention on the waterfront, there are several facilities for renting and using sea kayaks around the bay, and each has its benefits as well as drawbacks. When I first heard that there was a city in Southeast Asia where a giant golden statue stood as guard to a cave temple filled with monkeys, I was sold. It really doesn’t take a whole lot to get me excited about foreign places and every word of that description seemed to redefine what I wanted out of life itself. Caves? Awesome. Hindu temples? Still maintaining a monarchy, Cambodia has worked hard to preserve their Royal Palace as a tourist destination and cultural icon of Cambodia’s past. Train Travels – Boseong
Our train travels have continued and this time we journeyed to Boseong. To get there from Yeosu, we had to transfer briefly in Suncheon, but the entire trip took only an hour and a half and cost us 5,000 won (~$5) each! What a bargain! Continue reading
