Few people we’ve met in our travels have the absolute joy for life that we’ve seen in Tom and Elicia Shepard. Instrumental in helping us find our way to jobs and lives in Yeosu, these two were some of our first friends outside of Seoul and continue to inspire us with their adventures. Check out their websites (Life’s A Journee and Klimbing Korean Mountains) and their ever-updated Instagram accounts @lifesajournee_liveit and @klimbingkoreanmountains. Continue reading

The Fourth Festivities
There are few things that unite foreigners living abroad than national cuisine and holidays. Sure, we have friends from all over the world with their own unique holidays, but everyone comes together for the common purpose of community regardless of nationality. This past weekend we celebrated America’s Independence Day with a motley group of Americans, Canadians, Brits, and Scots. Continue reading

Bangkok’s canal network is an oft-overlooked part of the city. With unique perspectives on Thailand’s capitol city and what it used to look like, Bangkok comes alive in the vast network of waterways. For a few hours a canal tour of Bangkok will surely satisfy anyone willing to put their apprehensions of safety and certified boat operators aside. Continue reading

Bangkok is an amazing city with a storied past. Although never colonized by western powers, Bangkok changed hands many times as dynasties and monarchies came and went. After flourishing in the later part of the 20th century, Thailand’s capitol city is now a modern and prosperous center for Thai commerce and culture. Continue reading

If there’s one lasting lesson that I have learned in my limited travels, it’s that the places most famous are often the ones least relaxing to spend time in. When a city, beach, resort, or even a road has been made legendary by history’s great travelers, it’s fairly safe to assume that it is now overrun by people attempting to recreate the stories which spurred their dreams of exotic adventure. Continue reading
Moving Again?!
Yesterday, we posted this picture to our Facebook page asking our followers to guess what it could possibly unlock…
Korean Noms – Pajeon
Recently, we took another short drive up to Suncheon, the city just north of us. We love taking day trips there as we are constantly discovering new things to see and do. This time, the game plan was to go to the Naganeupseong Folk Village just west of the city. Continue reading
